MiAL is increasingly recognised and respected as the trusted, quality platform for buying art and design from UAL’s emerging artists. International art collectors and design buyers have sourced art and design from Made in Arts London and industry experts from a wide range of specialisms are working with us to guide, advise and actively promote UAL students and graduates, helping them find their feet in an increasingly competitive environment.
“Bigger, Brighter, Bolder” is a survey of work from the curated selections made by MiAL’s invited independent panels. All art and design sold by MiAL is created exclusively by either our current students or recent graduates, and picked by a panel of industry experts and successful independent artists and designers who meet quarterly to select the next MiAL Collection.
This panel changes with each new collection in order to ensure our offer is fresh and relevant and to continue to grow our knowledge and expertise. Previous panelists have included; Angus Montgomery, Editor of Design Week, Tom Jeffreys, (Art Critic and Curator), Design Duo Tatty Devine and Tyler Woolcott (Director, Rowing Gallery), Rheanna Lingham (Director, Luna & Curious) and Anna Castleton-Simmons (Arts PR and UAL) for the MiAL Spring 2014 Collection.
Three of the exhibiting artists in “Bigger, Brighter, Bolder” are Catlin Art Prize shortlisted artists; Sarah Fortais (2014), Lara Morrell (2014) and Conal McAteer (2013). Catlin Art Prize Shortlists are selected from The Catlin Guide 2014, a limited edition publication, widely recognised as the essential reference for collectors of emerging artists.
