Made in Arts London and Cass Art  have teamed up once again to bring you the Cass Art Materials Grant, a fantastic opportunity for one lucky University of the Arts London student to receive £500 in materials support.

The Cass Art Materials Grant came about through a partnership between MiAL and Cass Art because both parties understand the importance of supporting upcoming creatives to continue and maintain their practice.

There are many difficulties facing emerging artists and designers today, not least of which is having the income to purchase the materials needed to produce work. Therefore Cass Art decided to offer this grant as a way of alleviating some of this financial burden for the recipient.

The Cass Art Materials Grant is being offered in line with submissions to Made in Art London’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection, as this ensures that the recipient not only receives materials support but also the professional support of Made in Arts London to help them progress with their creative careers.

Made in Arts London supports and promotes emerging artists and designers to continue their practice by proving an online platform through which to sell work, opportunities to show work in exhibitions and art fairs across London, access to professional development and the chance to develop important networks to support their future.

Last year Fiona Masterton won the Cass Art materials support when she became a MiAL Artist as part of the MiAL Spring/Summer 2015 Collection.

When Fiona won the material support she was excited about having the opportunity to test out some new products from Cass Art that she hadn’t tried before.

“It will give me the opportunity to try out and include new materials in my mixed media practice that I otherwise may not have.” – Fiona Masterton

Since joining MiAL, Fiona has not only received the Cass Art materials support but she has also exhibited with MiAL at our independent exhibition Capsule and Affordable Art Fair Hampstead, she has also sold work through MiAL and gained a lot of interest in her work from external parties.

The Cass Art Materials Grant is available to all current students submitting work to the MiAL Spring/Summer 2016 collection. To apply simply fill out the MiAL submission form online and provide an 100 word statement on how receiving the Cass Art Materials Grant would benefit you.
