Clyde & Co Emerging Star Award Winner Announced

We are delighted to announce that Stella Kapezanou is the winner of the Clyde & Co Emerging Star Award!

Made in Arts London partnered with Clyde & Co to bring this exciting opportunity to UAL students who are working in their Foundation, First or Second year of study, awarding the recipient with representation with MiAL, £500 towards their practice and a 1-2-1 coaching session.

The team at Clyde & Co were looking for an emerging artist who displayed an exciting, unique and original practice with a strong understanding and identity visible in their work and they certainly found that in Stella!

Interested in images from everyday life, Stella aims to critically explore the habits ofeasy goes, 2017. Oil and acrylic on canvas. 200x170 cm people living in Western capitalist societies, exploring their belief systems and the emotional disconnect to their surroundings.

Intrigued by subjects that are not considered “high art” but are common to the viewers eye, Stella hopes to capture the temporariness, decay and mortality of humans. Her compositions straddle a boundary between the real and the unreal, depicting scenes that never quiet occurred against ideal skies and the greenest lawns. The world is captured not as a it appears, but as she perceives it…

Stella’s work will be up on our website as part of the Made in Arts London 2017 Collection in October!
